Select Menu

Select Matching Files
(Shortcut F6)
Compares the file lists, and selects the files whose names appear on both sides. Useful for finding files that have been added since a prior backup.

Select Newer Files
(Shortcut F7)
Compares the file lists by name and date. Selects only the newer of each pair of files whose names appears on both sides. Useful for finding files that have been updated since a prior backup.

Select Files Ready for Archive
(Shortcut F8)
Selects each file on either file list which has the archive bit set, which identifies files ready to be archived, or backed up. The bit is normally set, or turned on, by Windows whenever a file is accessed. Backup software normally turns the archive bit off when the file is backed up. If you have not previously backed up your files, all your files have the archive bit turned on.

Select Files Matching a Mask
(Shortcut F11)
Selects all files that match a file mask that you enter, with options to select on both or either sides, and with or without matching case. You can use any standard wild card characters in the file mask. For example, "Meeting?.txt" or "*.CDR" are both OK.

Matching upper and lower case filenames is rarely needed; the default setting is to not match case.

Delete Selected Files on the Active Side
(Shortcut DEL)
Deletes all selected files on the side that is currently active. The active side is shown with a white background.
