File Attributes

Set Date/Time
Clicking on the Set Date/Time check box expands the Information box so that you can enter a time and date for the selcted files. Click on 'Done' to apply the new date and time.

Hint: You cannot set an odd number of seconds, such as 15. This is a limitation built into how file times are stored by the operating system.

FileTiger always displays four-character years, but will accept a two-character year. Like any software that accepts two-character years, FileTiger uses a windowing technique to interpret what you intended. The window for the 20th Century runs from 30 to 99, and the window for 21st Century dates runs from 00 to 29. For example, if you enter the year as 02, FileTiger will assume that you mean 2002, and if you enter the year as 57, FileTiger will assume that you mean 1957. It is always better to enter the year as a four-digit number, or glance down at the line below the date entry box, where FileTiger shows the long version of the date as a confirmation.

Set Attributes
Clicking on the Set Attributes button applies the checked entries for Read Only, Hidden, System, and Archive to all the selected files. If you don't make any changes here, no settings will be changed.

Show Folder Properties
Clicking on the Show Folder Properties buttons opens the Windows properties box for the folder currently displayed. Depending on the characteristics of the system and drive, different pages may be displayed, showing network sharing, compression, and drive usage.

Caution: It is possible to hide a folder from this screen, but it is not possible to unhide or reveal the folder again from within FileTiger. Revealing a hidden folder can be done from inside Windows Explorer.
